Buying round tables: the only guide you'll need

Posted: 11th Feb 2016

Round tables may conjure up an image of King Arthur and his knights but you'd be surprised - they can be a practical addition to any home, creating a welcoming environment. So do you find yourself thinking of buying one? We've got some tips to make sure you're completely in the know!

1 Complement your room's style
Don't buy any old style. Instead shop around and take your time. This way you'll be able to find a design that will work with the designs you have in the rest of your room. What kind of style do you have? A contemporary style will work best with high gloss and glass, while timber will suit a rustic, cosy vibe.

2 Who will you entertain?
Be realistic as to how many guests you'll be entertaining at the table. The general rule is to allocate between 55cm and 60cm per place setting - if you think you'll be hosting regularly then go for an extendable table!

3 Chair space
No matter what you do, make sure you include space to allow room for the pulling in and out of chairs.
