The joy of carnival lights!

Carnival lighting is a quirky way to give your room some swagger. Coming in all manner of phrases and styles, they can either give your room an injection of fun or else provide a talking point. Whether it's battery powered or plug-in, you can light up your room in style and we've got some top tips to ensure you do just that!

1 Consider LED's life expectancy

While they can seem pricey, LED lighting has a life expectancy of up to 50,000 hours, which should balance out in the long run. You'll also find that they're extremely energy-efficient and durable, which is always a big bonus too.

2 Plan ahead

Where are you planning to position the sign? If you think a wall-mount is the way forward, be sure to have a lead that can reach the plug socket. It's also worth considering whether you'll be able to conecal the wires or not. If you find you're against wires everywhere, then a battery alternative is the way forward. Don't put it up somewhere where you'll struggle to access it to change the batteries, however.

3 Try creativity

You can always try making your own, if you feel up to the challenge! There are many tutorials online, such as this one, which can give you a sense of satisfaction when your friends ask exactly where you got the stylish design on your wall from!
