With her creative flair and eye for detail, Jade Maria has used quirky accessories, vibrant colours and paint effects to personalise her space
A bit about me
I’m Jade Maria, 26, and I live here with my partner Steph, 27, and our Persian cat Freda.
Where I live
I rent a two-bedroom semi-detached house which was once part of a hospital in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. It was built in 1856 and I started renting it in November 2016.
What I wanted to change
As an interior designer, I was keen to put my own stamp on the space even though it’s a rental. I wanted to introduce colour as the existing décor was very neutral.
How I made it my own
I have filled the house with interesting pieces that I’ve collected over the years. Colour has been used in each room.
My favourite part
I love spending time in the living area as it’s full of my eclectic collection of art and furnishings and the colours give it a strong sense of identity within the house.
