Decking the halls has got to be a Christmas highlight – right?
But in the frenzy of picking the right tree and making sure the cat doesn't climb it, you're missing out on decorating one of the most important rooms of the house – the bedroom!
Too often our bedrooms are left without a piece of tinsel in sight, so it's time to make a change!
Bedding, window decorations, fairy lights and even a mini Christmas tree are all fab ways of transforming your bedroom into a magical winter wonderland that's in keeping with the rest of your stylish decorations.
In a bid to get you decking your bedroom halls, we've teamed up with fabric and wallpaper designer, Vanessa Arbuthnott, to give her advice on how to decorate a bedroom for Christmas without breaking the budget. Take a look and see which tips and tricks could help give your bedroom that bit of Christmas sparkle!
1. Style your headboard
Vanessa says… "Dress your headboard with some fresh foliage - the fragrance is sure to help to soothe you to sleep. The one thing you need to remember is to secure it properly, to ensure it doesn't fall off during the night."
2. Table transformations
Vanessa says… "Seize the chance to give your dressing room table a touch-up. Giving it a festive transformation is nice and simple – you can either tie red ribbons on to the handles of your wardrobe or drawers, or alternatively, drape tinsel over the bed frame."
3. Miniature trees
Vanessa says… "The thought of a full-size Christmas tree in your room may be a touch too far - however, what about a miniature box tree? They can look super chic when wrapped in fabric - you can then pop it on your bedside table."
4. Festive feature walls
Vanessa says… "Give yourself a temporary feature wall by using a cluster of oversized paper snowflakes - they can even be suspended from the ceiling. Teaming these with fairy lights is another great win."
