1. The Great Outdoors
This Christmas, it's all about bringing the outdoors in, with foliage, wreaths, botanicals and much much more!
New to John Lewis & Partners for 2019, the Garden Retreat collection has everything you need to give your interior a natural Christmas look.
Featuring a deep emerald green colour palette, it's the perfect mix of classic Christmas decorations with a splash of novelty!
Alongside detailed plant prints you can find quirky aubergine and broccoli baubles, as well as a selection of botanicals to dress your room with. It's perfect for giving a traditonal property a modern Christmas twist!
2. There's a new dog in town
It was once the pug - now, it's time time of the Dachshund. It started with George's Dachshund bedding, which was released over the summer, and the trend is continuing into the festive season (just as well, we say, we definitely didn't get enough of this!).
Sausage dogs are increasing in popularity - there was the official sausage dog parade in London last August, while the sausage dog hashtag has over two million posts on Instagram.
So brace yourself for the pitter-patter of paws this winter - the sausage dog is coming, and it's going to inject your interiors with some fun style.
3. Off the tree baubles
Get ready to see baubles hanging all around the home, and not just on our Christmas trees. Whether it's for decorating the staircases, creating a dramatic centrepiece for your dining table, or to add some festive cheer to your picture frames, they're set to come into our interiors as never before. They can even be used to transform your festive period, adding multi dimensional baubles to add extra sheen - and catching the light in dark hallways. For centrepieces, plain branches can be hung with longer, oval shaped baubles to create a sparkle that doesn't border on the overbearing.
4. Dramatic fireplaces
Having a hearth will be especially ideal for Christmas. Statement dressing for the fireplace are proving to be very much in vogue this season. Make the most of the trend by opting for full, billowing garlands of wreaths to provide some extra festive frosting. Statement ornaments can also create some extra festive glam when they get added to your fireplace - try using festive colours such as gold or white.
