Joanne Paxton decided to give her bathroom a revamp and even managed to squeeze in a separate walk-in shower
A bit about me
Hi, I’m Joanne Paxton and I live with my husband Damien and our two daughters in a 1938 three-bed detached house in Derby.
My problem bathroom
The bathroom was pretty dated – a boring suite, beige tiles and green carpet. It’s quite a good size and as soon as we viewed it, I was imagining ways in which we could update it. I hated the carpet, it just doesn’t feel very hygienic and it wasn’t really practical!
How I made it work
I looked on Pinterest and Instagram to gain inspiration. I loved the painted wooden vanity unit look and for a while I was imagining Farrow & Ball’s Stiffkey Blue teamed with brass taps. Pink is my favourite colour, but I didn’t think Damien would go for it!
My favourite part
It changes all the time – I love the vanity unit, patterned flooring and all of the monochrome elements that come together. Oh, and the storage, there’s lots of room in the drawers to hide ugly toiletries and cleaning products which is really handy!
