When you're planning to host a celebration or get together, you need to make sure you have your own clear party zone - and these 4 tips will set you well on your way

1. Any living area can easily double up as a celebration space. However, try to choose a room which has easy access to both the kitchen and the bathroom. You'll also need surfaces to host drinks and nibbles, so a dining table will be ideal. However, if that's not an option, keep an eye out for collapsible designs. The same rule applies to chairs - you'll want to provide plenty of seating so guests can rest in between their boogieing. If you're working with a smaller space, floor cushions or beanbags can work just as well.

2. A trolley, bookcase or simple shelf are will act as the ideal bar. Simply stock up on cups and booze and you'll be good to go.

3. Portable speakers are worth the investment. You can then string up some fairy lights to add to the party ambience.

4. You'll want to make sure you don't annoy your neighbours too much. Try using thick curtains, floor rugs, draught excluders and soft furnishings to help to reduce the noise.
