'We'd go for a walk just to admire the house'

Nuala Hewer's dream home was in sight - just around the corner, to be exact. Once it was hers, it was just a case of making it her own...

A bit about me

I’m Nuala Hewer, owner of Kitty the Vintage Caravan, and I live with my husband, Paul. We have two sons and a daughter, and two guinea pigs called Ginger and Cookie.

Where I live

My home is a four-bed, traditional Scottish sandstone semi-detached villa in Stirlingshire. We have lived here since 2004.

What I wanted to change

I wanted to add some colour and vintage style in order to reflect our personalities.

How I made it my own

I painted the front door pink! I hate bland and beige colours, so we added colour throughout the house.

My favourite part

The transformation of the hallway. I love the dramatic grey walls, which act as a perfect backdrop for all my vintage pictures.
