'We knew straight away it was the one for us'

Having fallen head-over-heels for this house from afar, Catherine Kibble made an offer. There was just one little problem - it wasn't for sale.

A bit about me

I’m Catherine Kibble and I live with my husband Jonathan, and our nine-year-old twins, Oliver and Amelie.

Where I live

Our home is a fourbedroomed, 1970s detached house in Yarm, in the North East of England. We have lived here for nearly four years.

What I wanted to change

There wasn’t one room that didn’t need updating, but the kitchen was particularly bad – the units were hanging off the walls!

How I made it my own

I gave it a country cottage look to make it feel warm, homely and inviting.

My favourite part

It’s got to be our beautiful kitchen/ diner. Knocking the walls through has made it a lovely light and airy space.

You can find out exactly how Catherine managed this in our April issue, available for only £0.99 here.
