Meet Kitty the Vintage Caravan!

Meet Kitty the Vintage Caravan!

Posted 25th Apr 2017

Remember Nuala Hewer from our April issue? As well as styling her home with a vintage touch, Nuala has lovingly renovated Kitty the Vintage Caravan, which she now rents out for events and weddings.

Vintage styling

Kitty is a perfect example of Nuala’s eye for detail and love of vintage finds. She sourced all the fabrics, which are vintage and used floral wallpaper to revamp the interior.

Painted pastel yellow and blue cabinets add a pastel pop. Lovingly revamped, originally there were floor-to-ceiling cupboards inside, but to open up the space Nuala took them out and replaced them with the seating area. To complete the vintage look in Kitty, Nuala laid a chequered lino floor.

Soft furnishings

Upholstery and curtains by Taffled Threads add to the vintage vibe, as does pretty bunting. An Eat More Cake hanging and biscuit cushions by Nikki McWilliams add a quirky feel and plenty of character to Kitty.

Thrifty touches

Sourced pieces such as the two-tier folding glass topped table from a vintage fair in Dunblane, a wooden cake stand which has been painted a pale pink Farrow & Ball shade (the same colour as Nuala’s own front door!), plus original 1920s tins from a French chocolate company make Kitty full of vintage touches.

Kitty the Caravan is available to hire from £175 for half a day. You can find out more by visiting Nuala's website here.
