Designer Nikki McWilliams created an animated home with vibrant colours and an abundance of quirky, fun and handmade accessories

A bit about me

I’m Nikki McWilliams, and I live here with my husband, Michael, and our cat, Frankie.

Where I live

My home is a two-bed Victorian conversion in Alloa, Scotland. The house was built in 1890, we have lived here since 2014.

What I wanted to change

I wanted to completely redecorate every room as the style wasn’t to our tastes at all.

How I made it my own

The living room and bedroom floors were both stripped back and painted. They took a lot of work and they’re definitely the thing that I’m most proud of in our home.

My favourite part

Being able to add our personalities to every room. I think that my home is now contemporary, bright, colourful and playful, and completely representative of who lives here.
