So why should ypu be considering the ornate mirror? What makes them so special compared to a normal mirror? Well you may be surprised - they're a great way to give your room the stylish character injection it can sometimes need when it's otherwise looking a bit bare. And coming in numerous styles, you can decide exactly what type of character this is. After the timeless look? No problem! Or how about the retro look? You'll be spoilt for choice! So to give you a helping hand we've got some buying tips to set you on your way.
1) Bear the weight
When you're using ornate mirrors you have to remember that they're incredibly heavy. This means that it's essential to ensure that you're using fixings that are suitable for the weight that you will be hanging up. While hammer-in-hooks are more suitable for light and mid-weight frames, the heavier mirrors will require something a bit more heavy-duty. For instance a stronger J-hook or mirror-plate style of fixing. Also remember to use a spirit level.
2) Get your angles right
Make sure you think about the lighting when you are hanging a mirror. You don't want to hang them directly underneath your light or behind a lamp - this could otherwise create a harsh glare that nobody wants!
