With a keen eye for design, Maria Clay and her husband Ryan have transformed their old Victorian house into a modern colourful sanctuary

A bit about me

I’m Maria Clay, I live with my husband Ryan and our beautiful pug Keith. I’m a handbag designer by trade but now have my own artwork business, House of Neon.

Where I live

Our home is a four-bedroom detached house in Kent. It was built in 1882 and we’ve been here since 2012.

What I wanted to change

When we bought the house it needed a lot of TLC and modernising.

How I made it my own

My husband will say I put my stamp on it and he didn’t get a look in! Luckily the house came with great features and I like mixing the old with the new.

My favourite part

We love the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area. It’s spacious so it’s great for hosting and entertaining.

You can find out more about Maria and Ryan's home by purchasing our June 2019 issue, available as a digital download for £1.99 here.
