Faced with a sea of cream in her new-build home, Zarah Hunter has slowly transformed each room to reflect her vibrant personality

A bit about me

I’m Zarah Hunter, a hospice nurse, and I live here with my husband John and our two daughters plus French bulldog Stinkerbelle.

Where I live

Our house is a four-bedroom detached new-build home in Stewarton in Ayrshire, Scotland. We moved here in 2013.

What I wanted to change

Every room was painted magnolia with cream carpets, including even the bathrooms! I wanted to inject colour and some personality.

How I made it my own

We changed the layout of the kitchen to make it more practical and I redecorated each room.

My favourite part

I have enjoyed seeing my home go from a blank canvas to something that expresses our style.

You can find out more about Zarah's home by purchasing our May 2019 issue, available as a digital download for £1.99 here.
