Redecorating has become a regular occurrence in Beth and David Elsdon's family home as their colour confidence has grown

A bit about me

I’m Beth Elsdon, I own a home and gift store in York called Walter and May and I live with my husband David, and our two children, plus our dog, Rufus.

Where I live

Our home is a five-bedroom 1950s semi in York. We’ve lived here for nine years.

What I wanted to change

It only had one bathroom and no separate toilet, plus the kitchen extension had been badly planned.

How I made it my own

We started each room with a feeling we wanted to create. There’s usually a neutral base, then we add pops of colour.

My favourite part

I love sitting in my pink chair in the window with my morning coffee. With the view over the racecourse, it’s just priceless!
