First time buyers Natalie and Jamie Mackay have enjoyed creating a quirky pink and grey scheme living room
A bit about me
Hi, I’m Natalie Mackay, a fashion buyer, and I live with my husband, Jamie, our daughter, and cat Sushi, in a three-bedroom house in Lancashire.
My problem living room
The décor wasn’t to my taste as it was very neutral with magnolia walls and a cream carpet. The room was riddled with damp and some of the floorboards were rotten too.
How I made it work
A grey backdrop with pink accents and parquet flooring was in my head from the start. We’ve kept the period features but added a picture wall of 80s icons, metallic touches and an eclectic mix of cushions to inject personality.
My favourite part
That is a hard question as I am so pleased with the whole room. I love the Seletti neon light in the alcove as I spent ages hunting it down and it works so well with my gran’s old Singer sewing machine table. The pink love seat is another favourite as we spent a while saving for it and took our time choosing the right colour.
