Bring some Game of Thrones vibes into your home with IKEA's rugs

Posted 5th April by Peter Byrne

It feels like the countdown to the final season of Game of Thrones has lasted an eternity

It's finally only a matter of days away until 14th of April is upon us, and we can't wait! And now, IKEA is taking the excitement to the next level by giving us the opportunity to join the Night's Watch. Well, sort of.

Previously, the show's chief costume designer, Michele Clapton, has revealed that the IKEA Ludde Sheepskin rug has been used in the show, with Jon Snow and other members of the Night's Watch wearing them as they sought for protection from the fierce Northern winter.

So, what does this mean for you? Well, the LUDDE Sheepskin rug will be coming back to the retailer on the 14th April too!

While you hopefully won't have to confront the White Walkers, you'll still get to enjoy the full versatility and comfort of the product within your home - and have the added benefit of being well on your way to having a fancy dress costume, should you need one too.

You'll be sorted for any fancy dress parties you go to...

Carol McSeveney, Textiles Sales Leader, IKEA UK & Ireland said: "We are flattered that our rugs have featured in Game of Thrones across the years and can’t wait to see them making a re-appearance in Season 8. Whilst we know our rugs are snug and warm, we never imagined that they’d be such a key costume accessory in such a fantastic cult TV series."

Don't forget to keep your eyes peeled for the rug when you see the Night's Watch in the new series...

Their full range of rugs include: FÅRDRUP (£10), LUDDE (£30 - main image, left) and SKOLD (£50 - main image, right).
