4 ways to style colourful furniture pieces

Make a statement with your choice of furniture!

1. A colourful sofa can be daunting as they are often big investments but if you want to make a statement then it’s a great option. Make sure to pick a colour that you love and that you won’t get bored of. Also, consider the material – if it’s velvet, is it going to be the most practical option?

2. If you’ve got a wooden coffee table or sideboard that isn’t your style anymore, before Expert advice giving it away to charity think about painting it a different colour for a super-speedy upcycle. Use chalk paint so you can paint straight onto it.

3. To bring a sense of cohesion to your space, pair a colourful chair with a matching footstool. This will avoid a room feeling too mismatched and random. It’s also a handy place to pop your feet up in the evening.

4. Add texture to a colourful sofa by draping over a faux fur throw. Or, be adventurous with your choice of cushions – choose tasselled or velvet designs.
