Go bold with colour and express your personality!
1. Don’t be afraid to mix different period styles – an eclectic look is all about merging old with new. Use lots of pattern, but the key is to have a plan, otherwise you run the risk of ending up with a mishmash of eccentric pieces that do not work together.
2. Team worn and aged pieces with crisp, slick and shiny surfaces to strike the right balance.
3. Group items together to make a collection rather than randomly spreading them on different surfaces. Groups of three work really well – accessories will look perfectly placed rather than too cluttered.
4. Mix and match different textures – embroidered cushions, chunky knitted throws, woven rugs and baskets are all key elements of this style. Don’t forget to layer! Sometimes one throw isn’t enough – you can introduce some faux fur, too.
