4 yummy recipes to try this National Pizza Day

Exciting news, everyone - tomorrow's National Pizza Day (9th February)!

Whether you're a fan of the simple Margherita or prefer a nice Ham and Mushroom, there are many different toppings for you to try - and when better than National Pizza Day?

In fact, why not take things a step further and try to make your own pizza? We have just the recipes for you to try here...

Spinach, Cherry Tomato and Egg Pizza

You will need

4 tablespoons Napolina No Added Sugar Tomato and Hidden Veg Sauce
1 large egg
20g fresh spinach
6 Napolina Green Olives, halved
6 fresh cherry tomatoes, halved

Directions

1. Make your own pizza bases using Napolina's 'how to make pizza dough' video and try this alternative pizza recipe for your topping!

2. Spread a thin layer of Napolina No Added Sugar Tomato and Hidden Veg sauce across the pizza base.

3. Halve the cherry tomatoes and the green olives.

4. Leaving a gap in the middle, place evenly all around the top of the pizza and adding the spinach as well.

5. Crack the egg into the middle of the pizza where the gap has been left.

6. Put the pizza in a preheated oven at 220°c / Fan 200°c / Gas Mark 7 for 10 minutes until golden and crispy.

Cannellini Bean with Vegetables Pizza

This alternative pizza topper features tasty cannellini beans and fresh Mediterranean vegetables. The cannellini beans are packed full of protein and count towards your 5-a-day.

You will need

1 x 220g can Napolina Cannellini Beans, drained
2 teaspoons of Napolina Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
4 teaspoons of Napolina Green Pesto
6 cherry tomatoes, halved
6 courgette slices
½ red onion, sliced into strips
¼ large yellow pepper, sliced into strips

Directions

1. Make your own pizza bases using Napolina's 'how to make pizza dough' video and try this alternative pizza recipe for your topping!

2. Drain the cannellini beans and pour into a bowl, mashing until smooth.

3. Finely chop the garlic and add this to the bowl.

4. Stir in 4 teaspoons of green pesto and the extra virgin olive oil and mix well.

5. Spread a thin layer of bean mixture across the pizza base.

6. Halve the cherry tomatoes, slice the courgette into discs and slice the yellow pepper and red onion into long strips.

7. Place evenly all around the top of the pizza.

8. Put the pizza in a preheated oven at 220°c / Fan 200°c / Gas Mark 7 for 10 minutes until golden and crispy.

Artichoke, Cherry Tomato and Basil Pizza

You will need

6 tablespoons of Napolina Passata
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
6 fresh cherry tomatoes, halved
10 fresh basil leaves, shredded
200g artichoke hearts, halved

Directions

1. Make your own pizza bases using Napolina's 'how to make pizza dough' video and try this alternative pizza recipe for your topping!

2. Spread a thin layer of passata across the pizza base.

3. Finely chop the garlic and sprinkle across the passata.

4. Halve the cherry tomatoes and the artichoke hearts and shred the basil leaves.

5. Place evenly all around the top of the pizza.

6. Put the pizza in a preheated oven at 220°c / Fan 200°c / Gas Mark 7 for 10 minutes until golden and crispy.

Italian Pizzettes

You will need

1 Napolina Mini Pizza Base (per person)
75g Napolina Passata with Basil or Napolina Tomato & Herb Pizza Topping (per mini pizza base)
50g mozzarella slices (per mini pizza base)
1 teaspoon dried oregano (per mini pizza base)
Fresh basil (optional)

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 240°c / 220°c Fan / Gas Mark 9.

2. Take 1 carton of Napolina Passata with Basil or 1 jar of Napolina Tomato & Herb Pizza Topping and pour into a bowl.

3. Take 1 pack of Napolina Mini Pizza Bases and spread 75g of the passata (or pizza topping) over each pizza base with a spoon, leaving a very thin border around the edge.

4. Place mozzarella slices on top and sprinkle with the dried oregano.

5. Bake for 10 minutes until crisp and golden and serve with fresh basil leaves.
