If a nice cheeseboard is the ultimate Christmas luxury for you, the news that Lidl is upgrading their selection will be the perfect treat for you - especially with prices starting from only £1.99

As if that wasn't enough, there's also a nice boozy twist involved in each cheese.

A standout includes the Deluxe Wensleydale Winter Punch. Only £1.99, it blends deliciously crumbly Wensleydale with succulent cranberries which have been soaked in mulled wine to for added deliciousness.

Another option comes in the form of the Deluxe White Stilton, which, blended with fruity pieces such as tangy orange and apricot, has also been infused with the sweet and warming taste of Amaretto.

In a supermarket first, there's also the rather fancy Deluxe 30 Month Matured Hand Made Vintage Cheddar (£3.99). The traditionally hand-wrapped cheddar comes from locally sourced British milk and has been passed through the generations of the Joseph Heler family, who run the Laurel Farm that is nestled away in the Cheshire countryside. It provides both a crunchy bite and punchy kick, while you can be assured that it retains its flavour thanks to its elegant black wax casing.

And lastly, there's also the ripe, plummy, yet also dry Argentinian Cimaroas Mendoza Malbec (£5.99) - an indulgent way to celebrate the mature accents of vintage cheddar.

Here's to a Christmas filled with lots of cheese!
