Revealed: our 30 favourite winter dishes

Posted 6th December by Peter Byrne

Coming in from the freezing (and sometimes bitter) cold will leave many of us feeling in need of a nice warming meal

In fact, the survey of 2,000 adults found six in 10 adults consider a hot meal to be one of their favourite things to indulge in this time of year. However, with the build up to Christmas being a manic time for everyone, it's perhaps not surprising that 74 per cent have said they will take shortcuts in an attempt to make their lives easier.

This means Brits are doing things including frozen vegetables, microwaving food and using ready-made sauces too.

The study, conducted by Primula, also revealed the busiest time of the year will be Christmas, as one third said they have less time to cook during the crazy period. To get around this, Brits are turning to online shopping, while when cooking, will use frozen Yorkshire puddings, peel their vegetables before the big day, and also use squeezy cheese.

The study, conducted via OnePoll, then revealed that our favourite winter warmers include Cottage Pie, Lasagne, and the Sunday roast, with the full top 30 being:
