With the rush to get their homes ready for Christmas, it's been found that Brits are increasingly turning to professional help
The survey of 1,009 UK homeowners, was conducted by AppliancesDirect.co.uk, and found that 42 per cent of Brits seek domestic help as they want to get their home looking its very best for Christmas Day.
In fact, in their haste to get their interiors looking picture perfect, homeowners are paying out an average of £125 to professionals to help transform their home.
The job that Brits mainly feel they need for help with is getting the oven cleaned, as over one in three (39 per cent) call in reinforcements.
Following this was the 27 per cent who want an expert to help them to dress their Christmas tree, while one in five (20 per cent) call in a professional service to carry out a deep clean.
There was also a lack of faith when it came to cooking their Christmas dinner, with 18 per cent saying they have called in a chef to teach them how to cook their turkey.
Following this, 16 per cent said they will call in a removal company prior to the celebrations.
Mark Kelly, marketing manager at AppliancesDirect.co.uk, said: "It’s clear that the nation is not only short of time but are also house proud wanting to impress their guests - so much so that we turn to professional help ahead of the Christmas season. We do enough preparation for Christmas, so it’s only fair that we sometimes need a helping hand to get all the final bits sorted from cleaning the oven to removing items in the home."
