Thrifty Thursday: Lidl has released a real Christmas tree - for only £16.99

Are you on the hunt for a Christmas tree this year?

Well, Lidl could have the solution - for the very first time, the retailer is selling real Christmas trees for the first time - and prices start from less than £17.

The range offers you the ideal way to branch out into real trees – enter the Non-Drop Nordman Fir Christmas Tree. Available as the Fresh Cut (£19.99) and Pot-Grown (£16.99), both have strong yet soft needles, ensuring they're ideal for family decorating - and will save you time on the hoovering!

The Christmas trees have been grown in the Scottish Highlands, with the growers going so far as to hand-prune each tree to give it a beautifully bushy shape.

They're also LEAF Certified, meaning each one has been sustainably grown to take the surrounding environment into consideration.

Each one has then been carefully reared from seed to store.

Lidl is recommending leaving the tree outside until you’re ready to decorate, as this helps to maintain its festive finery for as long as possible. Once it's inside, keep it away from direct heat and then pop it into a pot. Be sure to keep it topped up with water - healthy trees can drink as much as a pint of water each day.

Lidl’s Christmas trees will be available from Thursday 29th November.
