The four steps to making a plank wood wall feature

The four steps to making a plank wood wall feature

Posted 24th Sep 2018

If you're after a statement wall piece, this plank wood feature could be the perfect solution!

1. Calculate the amount of wood you will need. Measure the length and width of the space you want to cover plus extra.

2. Clean the wall surface thoroughly, making sure that it is dry and flat and that any nails or screws are removed. Decide on the pattern you want to create and lay out the planks. Take a photo on your phone for reference if neccesary.

3. Start in the middle of your chosen spot and draw a straight reference line along the wall using a spirit level for accuracy.

4. Apply wood glue to the back of your first plank and start in the middle, then work your way outwards, upwards and below until you have completed your pattern. Add a few nails to secure the planks, but beware of any electricals behind the wall.
