A simple guide to reviving tired looking windows

Are your windows looking tired? Well, updating your home with window film could be the quick, easy and affordable project you need to try this week!

There are a vast array of designs and styles for you to try, ensuring you can transform the look of an entire room. Installation is a simple DIY project that anyone can try, as The Window Film Company explains...

You will need

A plastic card
Spray bottle
A cloth to wipe down at the end of the film installation

Directions

1 Card over the design using the Squeegee supplied to increase the bond between the application tape and Frostbrite film.

2 Pull off the backing sheet whilst checking all the elements of the design come off the backing seal and stay on application tape.

3 Spray the film so it is entirely covered with the soapy water.

4 Before you start installing, make sure your glass is as clean as possible. Next, spray the entire pane with the soapy solution before applying the film.

5 Take the film to the window, ensuring you keep it taut - allow the film to flow onto the glass and slide into position.

6 Spray the back of the film before squeegeeing over it with the plastic card supplied with your order.

7 Work from the top, pushing any bubbles out to the edges, whilst ensuring the film does not move. You can then repeat this process again to ensure all water is removed. Then, leave it for 24 hours to dry.

8 Once it has dried for 24 hours, spray the application tape lightly and leave it to soak for 5 minutes. Slowly peel off the application tape - this will then reveal the design.

9 Finally wipe off any remaining water from the film and the frame, making sure you take particular care around the edges of any cut outs not to lift the film.
