Setting up your own DIY workstation can be well worth the effort – if you’re not sure how to do so, these four tips will set you on your way
1. Just like having a home office or a craft corner, doing DIY yourself doesn't mean you need a fully kitted out workshop. However, you can save yourself a fortune by doing the little jobs around the house yourself.
2. The most important thing will be safety - keep a first aid kit handy, just in case, take off your jewellery and roll up any long sleeves to make sure you don't get anything caught in your tools.
3. All you will need to start is a small toolbox with a tape measure, hammer, screwdriver and some picture hooks - however, a small spirit level could be useful too. Then, make sure you have thoroughly researched the job you're looking to tackle.
4. Be patient and don't rush the job. Take the time to measure everything exactly, because a bad job will not be worth the effort. Concentrate and always set aside the time you need to complete it.
