Planning a gruesome get together for Halloween? Along with lots of spooky decorations, you’ll need a pumpkin drinks cooler for your refreshments – or else, Frankenstein and Dracula won’t feel so welcome.
With a little help from Bosch you can easily turn a pumpkin into a creepy drinks cooler. Instead of carving another scary face, with a few simple steps and a bucket of ice you can transform your pumpkin into a spooktacular centrepiece!
You will need
1 large pumpkin
Bosch PSA 700 E sabre saw
Bosch PSR 10.8 LI-2 cordless drill driver with holesaw (adjust to size of bottles, in this case 6 cm diameter)
Level of difficulty
1 Start by sawing horizontally through the centre of the pumpkin, the Bosch PSA 700 E sabre saw makes easy work of it. Once in two halves, hollow out the centres of the pumpkin.
Note: For hygiene reasons, do not use the pumpkin flesh to prepare food.
2 Next drill large holes in the top half of the pumpkin, ensuring that they are wide enough to hold the bottles. Bosch’s PSR 10.8 LI-2 cordless drill driver is great for this task as it can be easily fitted with a holesaw.
3 Place a bowl full of ice cubes in the lower half of the pumpkin and pop the pumpkin lid on top. You can then fill the holes with bottles ready to chill for Halloween.
If you would like to give the bottles a Halloween facelift, download the pre-designed labels from the Bosch homepage, print them on adhesive label paper and cut them out. Soak the bottles to remove the original labels and replace them with the new labels.
With decoration and refreshments solved in one, all you need to worry about is finding a corpselike costume to spook the spirits after dark!
