Craig Corbett, marketing manager at Alfresia, offers his top tips on how to make the most of the weather and extend your summer days and evenings.
‘It’s always difficult to predict our British weather, however we can be sure that the glorious days and warm evenings just can’t last long enough! These simple tips can help you to make the most of your time outdoors and embrace not only the last of the summer days, but the autumn ones too!
1 Is your garden looking relatively tidy? It certainly doesn’t need to resemble the botanical gardens, but your first port of call should be to give it a quick preen. Get rid of those pesky weeds (well at least those that are in sight for now) and add a bit of interest and colour with some pretty potted plants.
2 Don’t end the night, simply because the evening has turned chilly. Instead, turn up the heat with an outdoor heater! There are so many options to choose from, from table top heaters that can make alfresco dining cosy, traditional firepits which work as a great hub, Chimeneas which double up as garden sculptures and super stylish floor standing heaters. Simply select a design that suits both the style and size of your outdoor space.
3 Next, focus your attention on food and how you’re going to prepare it. After all, it is the thing that really brings people together! Nothing beats a good barbecue, yet unfortunately the majority of us feel as though we can only show off our skills when in the presence of glorious sunshine. But why not make an effort to get that barbecue fired up, even if there are a few clouds overhead! If you’re looking to impress then our Roma Masonry Barbecue should do the trick.
4 Curl up with a good book and enjoy the peace and quiet of your outdoor area. Water features are a great way to add that bit of Zen and tranquillity to a space and ensure you have seating which allows you to recline in comfort. Whether it be a sun lounger, garden swing seat, a careful scattering of cushions on the decking or a fabulous hammock, it matters not as long as it encourages you to be restful.
