B&Q have partnered with Pinterest to predict what they expect to be the big kitchen trends of 2018 - with results indicating this could be the year of the unicorn
This is the first Kitchen Trends report, which has been produced in partnership with Pinterest. By analysing the searches and saves of UK users, they have identified exactly what the British consumer is looking for in their kitchen-based home improvement projects...
The findings suggest the top four trends are expected to be:
1 Unicorn inspired kitchens
The mystical look of the unicorn grew in popularity last year, and that's set to continue in 2018 too. This will see pastel rainbow hues splashed over tiles, while bright white cupboards and gold accessories will be adorning every inch of the kitchen.
2 Touches of Morocco
Warmer climates will come to the UK, with mosaic and patterned tiles, shades of red and natural wood shades set to feature prominently.
3 Getting back to nature
The natural look is set to be one of the biggest interiors trends this year, and it will be no different in the kitchen. Expect eco solutions, FSC approved wood, organic materials and natural looks to be prominent.
4 Metallic touches
The metallic look has always been popular and now, it will take on a subtle appearance in the form of copper cupboard handles, gold taps and glimmering tiles.
The report also predicted there would be other kitchen micro trends, including future proofed kitchens, breakfast nooks, coffee stations, sink centrepieces and textured tiles.
In the coming days, we'll be looking at each trend so be sure to check back!
