Do you have a space near you which could do with a tiling makeover?

Then 'Tiling for a Good Cause' could be the initiative you need to know about.

The scheme will give one deserving facility the opportunity to receive a tiling transformation worth up to £500 to update an otherwise lacklustre space.

Local spaces and projects will include the addition of brand new tiles which create a friendlier bathroom at a local care home, a fun mural for a sensory garden within a community centre, or on-trend tiles as a way of updating a kitchen area at a local sports club.

The campaign is open to anyone - all they are asked to do is submit a short, written description which details how they would like the space to be transformed with new tiles, including ideas to improve the space online here.

Entries will be accompanied by a photograph or video which will illustrate the current look of the existing space - nominations will be open until Wednesday 22nd November, at which point it will go down to a public vote.

The winning facility will receive new Tile Trader tiles and accompanying materials worth up to £500 - the prize will not include installation and entries must be a small project space.

Peter Swain from Tile Trader said: "With minimum budget, local spaces are all too often left untouched or neglected. We wanted to inject life into a deserving community project or initiative using tiles – a material often used to revamp smaller spaces in need of a makeover. We encourage the people of the UK to nominate a worthy space. We look forward to reading through all the nominations!"
