Sara Carlton wasn’t looking to move when this cottage came on the market. But despite all the work which needed doing, she fell in love

A bit about me

Hi, I’m Sara Carlton. I live with my boyfriend Chris and our adopted cat, Elvis.

Where I live

My home is a three-bedroomed 1800s mid-terraced cottage in a small village on the outskirts of Bishop Auckland. We have lived here since 2013.

What I wanted to change

The house was a complete renovation project. We knew when we bought it that we had a lot of work to do!

How I made it my own

We renovated the whole house, so we were lucky to be able to create a space that we wanted.

My favourite part

I love the bathroom. It’s my sanctuary. I always wanted a claw foot free standing bath. Luckily, we found a corner one that was just perfect!

You can find out more about Sara's mid-terraced cottage by purchasing our September issue, available as a digital download for only £0.99 here.
