In our September issue top Insta stars reveal their secrets for curating the best feed around. Want to know more? We’ll be featuring extra tips from these styling pros right here. Today, we talk to Susanna Hawkins, of @shnordic

My Insta story…

I started using Instagram last year as I’d made a New Year’s resolution to take more photos and needed a place to put them. Initially it was a random collection of shots but by autumn my Instagram had become home and décor related.

My top tips…

1 Stick to your niche. People like to know what to expect. If you post a Formula One racing photo one day and a cute cat the next it’s harder to find people who love both so much they want to follow you.

2 Use Insta stories to make yourself more personable. Instagram has a reputation as a place where everything is presented as perfect. Insta stories is the ideal way to show more varied sides of your life and interests, as well as the behind-the-scenes type of photos and videos.

3 Instagram is meant to be social, so be out there, make friends and find your tribe of like-minded Instagrammers. That’s what makes it fun! The best way to do this is to interact with people – everybody loves a meaningful comment.
