Buying a discounted suite and sprucing it up gave Jo Pull the vintage vibe she so desired in her bathroom
A bit about me
I’m Jo Pull, and I live with my husband, Alex, and our children, Rafferty, three, and baby Atticus in a three-bed Victorian terrace in London.
My problem bathroom
The main bathroom was at the end of the house next to the garden. It was cold and dated, so no-one wanted to go in there very much, plus it was awkward for guests to have to trample downstairs in the middle of the night.
How I made it work
Once we had the right design for the downstairs kitchen extension in place, with the internal bathroom in the right position, I really put some thought into making it as light as possible while adding character. We went with white tiles to keep it bright and airy, and a Victorian style suite to add character.
My favourite part
I love the first view of the bathroom – the basin on its long gold-plated legs and the metal mirror above, with its spikes and gold rimmed centre, especially as I carefully brought it all the way back from America. It’s such a welcoming, refreshing room, and everything in there marries so nicely.
