It seems the popularity of the unicorn is not going away any time soon, if research from B&Q and Pinterest is to be believed
In their recently released Kitchens Trend Report for 2018, B&Q and Pinterest identified exactly what British consumers are looking for in their kitchen-based home improvement projects.
In 2017, images of the mythical creature started to adorn a variety of accessories, something which is now continuing into our kitchens, as British consumers start to embrace the 'Unicorn Inspired Kitchen'.
Inspired by the pastel shades of the trend, which includes bright whites and gold accents, homeowners have also been increasingly searching and saving 'pink kitchen accessories', which has rocketed by 234 per cent. At the same time, 'pink paint' also rose by 120 per cent, while 'white cabinets' and 'gold kitchen accessories' increased by 262 per cent and 235 per cent respectively.
Commenting on it, Mike Lavers, the Market Manager for Kitchens at B&Q said: "The hugely popular Unicorn craze is cantering into kitchens. Brits are embracing the theme and turning to glitter paint, gloss tiling and accessories like coloured glass tea lights to add extra sparkle. In 2018, we expect more people to experiment with these subtle colour schemes and introduce stand out furnishings as a way of rejuvenating their kitchens'.
