By being bold and playful with colour Darren Pope-Treloar has created an eclectic period home with an experimental contemporary twist

A bit about me

I am Darren Pope-Treloar and I Iive with my husband Richard and two cats Saffy and Charlie.

Where I live

My home is a small two-bedroomed Victorian terrace in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. We have lived here for nearly three years.

What I wanted to change

The house was well presented but every room was painted either brown or beige. We knew we wanted to inject colour into it straight away. How I made it my own We have put our stamp on the place by adding colour and quirky accessories.

My favourite part

I love our living room. The bold fireplace makes me smile. I wanted to create a wow-factor so I painted the wall blue to make the yellow really pop!
